Therapy with me
Sitting and talking with another person who is trained to listen in ways that friends or family cannot, brings a useful new perspective to your understanding of yourself - both past experiences and what currently ails you. From there comes a chance to begin a new course, make different choices, or set about finding solutions.
Over time therapy can bring meaningful changes leading to a greater sense of peace, productivity, and improved family dynamics or friendships.
I majored in English at Barnard College in NYC where an early love of literature taught me to appreciate the power of a story to teach about character and relationship.
My Masters in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, prepared me for clinical work. Certificates from the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis and in Group Psychotherapy deepened my understanding of personality and social dynamics. My PhD is from the Institute for Clinical Social Work - there I developed a keen interest in the young adult, the experience of 'launching' in family life, and parenting issues.
I'm ready to hear your story and look forward to the possibility of working together.
